A handsome mahogany longcase clock dating from the mid century, fitted with a quality German weight-driven movement by Franz Hermle & Sohn (model 451-053H). The clock face is signed E.J. Goodfellow, Wadebridge, a retailer of the period.

The case is crafted in mahogany with a swan-neck pediment, glazed door to the dial, and a long trunk door revealing the brass pendulum and weights. The brass dial is richly engraved with Roman numerals and decorative spandrels.

The 8-day weight-driven movement strikes the hours with a clear, resonant chime, recently fully serviced and in excellent working order.
