A striking and substantial antique Victorian mahogany tilt-top table, dating from approximately 1860–1880.

This impressive table features a large circular top measuring approximately 115 cm in diameter, displaying the rich colour, attractive grain and beautifully aged character associated with antique mahogany.

The table stands on a substantial turned central pedestal, supported by three beautifully shaped and carved legs terminating in impressive paw feet. Decorative carved detailing along the legs gives the base a particularly elegant and sculptural appearance.

One of the table’s most interesting features is its traditional tilt-top mechanism. The large circular top can be released and raised into a vertical position, significantly reducing the amount of floor space required when the table is not in use. The original-style mechanism and substantial timber construction are clearly visible underneath.
